Dom & Pete

Welcome to the official website! My name is Pete, and I am the bass player of a warm and friendly, two piece ukulele ensemble "Dom & Pete". The other band member is my son Dominic, who plays ukulele and sings.

We play mostly to support local charities, care homes and community centres and our music can be catered to suit the likes of your residents/audience. Our performance has been described as wonderful and fabulous!

We can play vocal harmony sets from the Sixties, the Fifties, Charts, Vintage (old time) and Christmas. We even play a few punk rock songs! We can cater our song selections from your suggestions. We encourage your audience to join in with us as we play. We play in many care homes in the Morecambe and Lancaster area and the residents love us, come alive, sing along, and some even get up to dance as we play! We were recently invited to play at Heysham Library in support of their Platinum Jubilee celebrations when we performed a set with songs from the Fifties up to the present day.

Our charges aren't high and we represent good value. Our performance lasts for about an hour; which would be around 20 songs.

If you would like us to perform for your residents, please get in touch by e-mail or phone.

The Band - Profile

Pete

Pete (bass and vocals) originally started playing bass in a Cèilidh band and for Morecambe Ukulele Club. Pete now plays for "Dom & Pete" and is always looking for new bass grooves for people to clap along to. Pete says, "We need the bass to groove and provide a steady rhythmic feel to make everyone want to move, dance and tap their feet".

Dominic

Dominic (lead ukulele and vocals) began playing piano when he was just two years old, but its only in more recent years that he started to play the ukulele. Dominic is a virtuoso and plays many instruments including piano, steel pan, accordion, and xylophone and is an accomplished soloist on the ukulele.

Awards

Dom and Pete love supporting our local community and charities. Our favourite local charity is Positive Futures in Lancaster. Positive Futures is a mental health charity that supports the people of Lancaster, Morecambe and District. Dom and Pete regularly live stream to Positive Futures Facebook.

In 2020 we received our first award, “Volunteers of the Year” for helping to keep everyone going through the covid period with live music.

Pete and Dom love playing live at Positive Futures.

Events

Dom&Pete at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Afternoon Tea - May 25th 2022

Dom and Pete were invited to our local Heysham Library to perform for their Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Afternoon Tea Event.

What an incredible turnout for their first big event the Library has been involved in for over 2 years!

A quote from the “Friends of Heysham” Library who organised the event, “the fantastic Pete&Dom filled our hearts - and library - with song today at our special Queen’s Jubilee afternoon tea! “ and “you brought so much music and happiness to the library! Your song choices are always excellent, as friends of the Friends we can’t wait to have you back again soon!”

Positive Futures Ceilidh May 21st 2016

In 2016 Dom and Pete supported a Positive Futures North West and Morecambe Library by hosting a Ceilidh there.

What a fun fundraising evening !
